Kelly (she/her) is a dedicated Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with a passion for working with children and adolescents. She specializes in working with young people struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, relational difficulties, and traumatic stress. She also focuses on honoring and affirming the unique experiences of people with neurodiversity.
Kelly’s approach to therapy is grounded in attachment science and Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) principles, emphasizing the importance of developing secure relationships and knowledge of ongoing brain development. She utilizes child-centered play therapy techniques to encourage opportunities for resilience, confidence, and development of autonomy. By fostering a safe and supportive environment where they can be their authentic selves, Kelly helps clients explore their emotions and develop coping strategies. She uses a strengths-based approach in her work to highlight her clients’ innate capabilities to facilitate healing and positive change.
With her compassionate nature, expertise, and ability to connect with young individuals, Kelly is a trusted ally in helping children and adolescents navigate the challenges that can come with growing up. She also works collaboratively with her clients’ families to support young people in developing the skills they need to thrive.
Kelly was born and raised in Pasadena and is knowledgeable of the local community and schools. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Master of Science degree in Psychology with a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona. Prior to joining the Center for Connection, Kelly worked as a school-based therapist serving school-age, adolescent, and teenage students.
