Kathleen Davidson is an occupational therapist and long-time resident of Los Angeles. Watching her son benefit from occupational therapy (OT) in early childhood inspired her pursuit of the profession and supporting families through evidenced informed practice. With so many “occupations'' embedded in a child’s day, routine activities such as playing, learning, dressing, eating, or any number of tasks - provide opportunities to develop the skills fundamental to one’s identity, well-being, and autonomy. Kathleen obtained her master’s degree in OT from the University of Southern California and has worked as a school-based OT with students of all ages and abilities.
Kathleen brings her love of movement, communication, and all things sensory to a relational and developmental approach. Having completed her bachelor's degree in Dance from The Juilliard School and danced professionally for 10 years (ballet, modern), she utilizes her creative and kinesthetic background together with a child’s interests and intrinsic motivation to engage in therapeutic activities. She has worked on an interdisciplinary team at UCLA Ties for Families, providing wrap-around services for children in the foster care system and their caregivers. Kathleen has also contributed to research for California Rehabilitation Institute and Cedars Sinai Medical Center on adult rehabilitation and quality outcome measures at the onset of the COVID pandemic.
Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys many occupations such as hiking, traveling, reading, and exploring new places in Los Angeles with her husband, teenage son, and dog, Snoopy.
